Housing Services Mission

Housing Services provides programs and services for residents in the Town of Apex.

Guided by the Affordable Housing Plan and in partnership with nonprofits, housing developers and other community partners, the Town works in areas ranging from homelessness to homeownership by providing programs such housing rehabilitation and ap financing for below market-rate housing development.

Housing Strategy

In 2020, the Town of Apex, with input from the community, developed an Affordable Housing Plan to create affordable rental and ownership living opportunities. The Town adopted the Plan in 2021.

The Plan establishes a collaborative effort among the Town and other community partners for the allocation of public resources to guide the Town's housing investments, policies, processes and related decisions. It highlights two core considerations: expanding the supply of affordable housing and preserving existing homes that are affordable.

Since creation of the Plan, Town Council also adopted policies and guidelines that strengthen the structure around affordable housing in our community. An update to the plan is currently underway and will again include input from the community. The Plan update will establish a framework and strategies to guide future growth of affordable housing in Apex.
